Lifting without surgery — within honest limits
HIFU tightens the layer surgeons pull during a facelift, using focused ultrasound rather than incisions. It suits mild to moderate laxity, and it is not a facelift.

High-intensity focused ultrasound delivers energy to precise depths beneath the skin, including the SMAS layer that a surgeon tightens during a facelift. The heat causes immediate tissue contraction and, more importantly, triggers new collagen formation over the following months.
The result builds slowly. There is a modest immediate tightening, then a gradual firming over two to three months as collagen remodels, typically peaking around the third month and lasting a year or more.
The honest limit: HIFU suits mild to moderate laxity, most often in people in their thirties to fifties. Significant sagging with excess skin needs surgery, and no amount of ultrasound will substitute. If that is what you have, we will tell you rather than sell you a course.

Treatment
45–90 minutesUltrasound gel, then the handpiece delivers lines of focused energy. You feel brief heat and prickling at each line — uncomfortable in places, particularly along the jaw, but manageable.

Mild redness for an hour or two and occasional tenderness or tingling for a few days. You can go back to normal life immediately, including makeup.
The result builds
Months 1–3A slight immediate tightening, then gradual firming as collagen remodels, peaking at around three months. Photographs at baseline and three months are the honest way to judge it.

Is HIFU the same as a facelift?
No. It works on the same layer a surgeon tightens, but the degree of lift is far smaller. It is for mild to moderate laxity. If you have significant sagging and excess skin, HIFU will disappoint you and surgery is the honest answer.
How long does it last?
Typically a year to eighteen months. It does not stop ageing — it resets you somewhat and slows visible change, and many people repeat it annually.
Is there any downtime?
Essentially none. Some redness for an hour or two and occasional tenderness for a few days. You can go straight back to work.
Does it hurt?
There is brief heat and a prickling sensation as each line is delivered, most noticeable over bone along the jaw. Uncomfortable rather than painful, and it stops the moment the session does.
