Thread Lift — doctor-administered at the hospital
A thread lift places absorbable sutures — usually polydioxanone, the same material used in surgical sutures — under the skin. Barbed threads catch the tissue and lift it into a better position; smoother mono threads stimulate collagen along their path without much lifting.
The threads dissolve over roughly six to nine months, but the collagen laid down along them persists, which is why the effect outlasts the material itself. Results typically hold for around a year to eighteen months.
Threads occupy a specific gap: more lift than HIFU or injectables can give, considerably less than surgery, with a recovery of days rather than weeks. They work best on early to moderate sagging in someone with reasonable skin quality — and poorly on heavy, advanced laxity, which needs surgery.

How long do thread lift results last?
Around twelve to eighteen months. The threads themselves dissolve in six to nine months, but the collagen laid down along their path keeps the effect going beyond that.
Is it a substitute for a facelift?
No. It gives a modest, real lift with days of recovery instead of weeks. Advanced sagging with substantial excess skin needs surgery, and threads on that degree of laxity disappoint.
Can the threads be seen or felt?
Not once settled. Slight puckering or a palpable line is common in the first week or two and resolves as swelling subsides and the threads soften.
