Why doesn't my anti-dandruff shampoo work?
Because it is formulated for one specific cause — usually mild surface yeast-related flaking — and if your scalp condition is something else, such as scalp psoriasis, it will not touch the underlying process however long you use it.
Is dandruff caused by poor hygiene?
No. It is driven by yeast overgrowth, skin barrier factors and, for some people, an inflammatory condition like psoriasis — not by how often you wash your hair. Over-washing can actually irritate an already inflamed scalp.
Can this cause hair loss?
